Weald of Kent countryside

Visit the beautiful Kent countryside, which is only an hour's journey from London, and find out why it has been described as the Garden of England. If you're coming by car, take a trip down a country lane, enjoy the unspoilt vistas and find that all important traditional English pub. Then join us at Bedgebury Camping for a roaring campfire and marshmallows.

Exploring on foot

By far the best way to really enjoy the Kent countryside is by foot, a leisurely walk through a tranquil valley in the early morning mist is a treat not to be missed. You could be lucky enough to see a buzzard or a kestrel searching for its prey, heron by a nearby pond or a deer grazing in a meadow.

There are miles of public footpaths in the area, one of which runs through the main camping field. Come prepared with your own OS map of the area (High Weald 136) or borrow one from Bedgebury Camping. All we ask is that you put down a refundable deposit for its return.

Exploring the surrounding countryside will truly leave you invigorated, but before you set off don't forget to check the weather. Taking the correct clothes for the conditions will make the experience memorable for the right reasons.

If you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind, Bedgebury Forest, Bewl Water and Sissinghurst Castle Garden are ideally located, no more than 15 minutes drive away. Visit our dedicated pages to find out more.
